Toddler dragged when stroller caught in train door

Toddler dragged when stroller caught in train door --

Apparently this toddler's life was spared because they were not buckled into the stroller at the time it was swept away.

  1. CTA really needs to bring back conductors, the people that say "watch the closing doors" and actually watch the platform as the train pulls out of the station. I know it costs $, but if Daley and the boys would stop stealing, Chicago could afford it. How can we be a "world class city" with a 3rd rate transit system. Good thing the baby survived, but I smell a huge lawsuit.

Every time I hear this story I wonder why none of the other passengers didn't pull the cherry, the emergency brake that opens the door and stops the train. We use to pull it all the time to stop the train so our friends could catch up.

  2. Thanks for the comment Aminah! I wonder too about people watching something but not doing anything. Just the other day an elderly man was on the bus and dropped something. I saw him pick it up and went back to reading. Then I heard people snickering and pointing and saw that he had dropped a big can of beer that was now dripping onto the floor and rolling my way. Luckily I was in an elevated part, but no one said "Hey Man! Your drink is spilling!" or "Watch your bag, there's something wet rolling your way." He had just pulled the cord to get off when I saw it.

This is in no way as bad as dragging a child but all over the States, people tend to not care...

And pulling the stop for a friend who missed the train is illegal isn't it? LOL!
